Strata Identity Introduces No-Code Software Recipes for Application Modernization

Pre-built solutions enable customers to migrate from legacy identity systems to more secure and flexible cloud identity providers without rewriting applications

BOULDER, Colo., March 15, 2023 — Strata Identity, the Identity Orchestration company, today announced the availability of its application modernization Orchestration Recipes that enable organizations to migrate from any legacy identity system to any cloud identity provider (IDP) without rewriting any code using the Maverics multi-cloud Identity Orchestration platform. The recipes support moving off outdated IDPs to more secure and flexible cloud identity systems like Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, AWS Cognito, and more.

Legacy on-premises identity systems are outdated and expensive to maintain, and many have announced the end of service for commonly-used versions. Strata’s modernization Orchestration Recipes automate the transition from legacy identity systems to modern cloud-based identity providers. The Maverics Identity Orchestration platform creates a powerful abstraction layer that eliminates the need for coding tedious custom integration scripts, which not only saves money but also paves the way for improved security, greater agility, and long-term growth opportunities.

“While most organizations want to migrate to cloud identity systems for the improved security and flexibility provided by MFA and passwordless, they must first rewrite their applications which can take years and cost millions,” said Eric Olden, CEO and Co-founder of Strata Identity. “The Maverics Identity Orchestration Platform and our modernization recipes eliminate this roadblock  to maximize security investments, decrease an organization’s attack surface, and preserve IT budgets.”

Strata’s Maverics Identity Orchestration Platform abstracts identity from apps so any application can be migrated to any cloud IDP — regardless of whether it speaks modern identity protocols or not. Strata’s modernization Orchestration Recipes manage the complex identity relationships and processes associated with moving from Oracle Access Manager, SiteMinder, and others, to Okta, Microsoft Azure, AWS Cognito, and more.

Strata’s modernization Orchestration Recipes enable customers to:

  • Replace any IDP with any IDP without refactoring
Maverics creates an Identity Orchestration abstraction layer (identity fabric), which lets organizations quickly modernize any app — even LDAP-bound apps — without rewriting them.
  • Fine-tune control settings with flexible, conditional access
With Maverics, administrators can easily enforce temporary or permanent conditional access based on geography, job role, department, etc., to allow for the phased deployment of a new IDP across the enterprise.
  • Eliminate risk
If unintended outcomes occur, Maverics makes every change easily reversible in seconds without outages. It also supports the coexistence of IDPs to allow for phased migrations and multi-IDP use cases.
  • Create frictionless access for users
Maverics makes it possible to quickly integrate new IDPs with existing apps creating little to no downtime for end users.

Strata will demonstrate its Orchestration Recipes for application modernization, passwordless, and more next week at the Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit in Grapevine, Texas.

About Strata

Strata Identity is the leader in Identity Orchestration for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The orchestration recipe-powered Maverics platform enables organizations to integrate and control incompatible identity systems without changing the user access experience. By decoupling applications from identity, Maverics makes it possible to implement modern authentication, like passwordless, and enforce consistent access policies without refactoring source code. The company’s founders created the IDQL (Identity Query Language) standard and Hexa open-source software for multi-cloud policy orchestration and are co-authors of the SAML standard for SSO federation.
