About:
Darren Platt is foundational to what is now known as identity and access management. Throughout his life and career, a scientist’s curiosity has led him to question how things are done, and passion-fueled determination has driven him to find the answers.
His contributions are vast and include creating the technology SAML is based on and driving the formation of the SAML technical committee, and contributing to the creation of OAuth and the WS-* set of specifications, then building the technology to implement them with such products as ClearTrust (acquired by RSA), Ping Federate, and Symplified’s IDaaS product (also acquired by RSA).
Darren has led engineering teams at Securant Technologies, Ping Identity, Simplified, RSA, and Oracle. He is now the VP of Product Management and Engineering at Strata Identity, where he is building the first distributed Identity Orchestration platform for distributed environments and contributing to the new policy orchestration standard, IDQL and its reference software Hexa.
